Welcome to Robin & Dennis' Cross Country 2013 Adventures 

 March 21, 2013 - The day has finally come for us to start our journey.   After many months of anticipation, we're packed and ready to go.   All of our wonderful family, friends and neighbors have wished us fairwell and to have a safe trip.   I must say that we will miss everyone so much.   Not that 3 months is all that long, but we've never been gone that long from home before.   Yes, it will be an adventure!!!!   So, at 10:30 am we shove off with the motorcycle on the lift and the Ford Escape in tow.   This is a dream come true!!

Our first destination is to the big town of Red Bay, Alabama to have several items serviced on our motorhome.   Should take several days to get there.  Decided to stop for the night in Concord, NC - Charlotte Motor Speedway Campground.   Had a problem with the car - the battery was dead (joy).    So it was off to Auto Zone to get a one.   We also decided to let Tom Johnson's Camping Center (next door to the campground) install a charger line from the motorhome to the car battery.   Hopefully that will be the last car battery we'll have to buy for a while.   Since we were there, decided to take a tour of the Charlotte Motor Speedway.   Great tour, rode in a cargo van 80 miles an hour around the track.   They almost had to restart my heart, but it sure was fun.  

Pulled into Red Bay, AL about 12:00 on Sunday March 24, 2013.   Checked in and rolled around to site #29.   Completed paperwork and settled in knowing we would be here a while.  No cable or satellite for tv.   Just taking whatever we can get.   CBS comes and goes.   Watched some basketball, had a spaghetti dinner and early to bed.   And so the adventures continue!!!!!
