April 6, 2013

Hi everybody!    It's Saturday and we're still in Red Bay, AL.    Got up early to work on our blog.  Almost have it up to date!!   This is a new experience for us.   Thanks to my son Kevin and to Dennis' niece, Marianne for the encouragement and showing us what to do to get started!!    Guess you can teach a couple of old dogs new tricks!!

Well, we had another great day!!   Somehow we keep coming up with things to do.   Hopped on the motorcycle and headed for the Natchez Trace Parkway (Dennis keeps calling it the Nacho Trace:).   What a beautiful ride - is similar to the Blue Ridge Parkway.   Rode about 50 miles down to Tupelo.   Along the way, we saw the Tennesee/TomBigBee Waterway.  Had a picnic lunch there.  Further down the road was the Pharr Indian Burial Mounds - 1,800 to 2,000 years old - very interesting.   Saw beautiful scenery and fields of yellow buttercups.   Ended up at the Visitors Center in Tupelo where we saw a short movie on the history of the Trace.   Then it was back to Red Bay.  Enjoyed marinated chicken tenders on the grill, baked potato & salad.   The highlight of the night was being able to watch the Syracuse/Michigan basketball game in the laundry room of the campground!!   What more could you want - another great day!!    Later........   Robin & Dennis

A field of buttercups! Robin took this while we were riding!!!!!!!!

Game On!!!
