Hi everyone!! Another travel day - so not a lot to report. Left Baker City, Idaho this morning around 9:00, and arrived at the Buffalo Meadows RV Park near Blackfoot, Idaho about 5:00.
Back to Mountain time - so we lost an hour. Saw all sorts of landscapes today. Traveled along I-84. We were up and down mountains, traveled beside the Snake River, saw lots of cattle and farm land. Not sure what was planted, but being in Idaho, I'm thinking potatoes!!!!
Had to take this one for Kevin, Robins son. He works for Estes and this was a triple tractor trailer. Saw a lot of these out west.

Got checked in and set up for the evening. The funny thing is we are actually staying on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation, near Blackfoot, Idaho. The RV park is right behind the Fort Hall Casino.
Not Dennis' favorite place to go, but I did manage to get him inside. Well, he left with a smile on his face. We put a few dollars in, and ended up winning enough to pay for the campground . We were in and out of there in about 20 minutes!!! Not bad!!! A little TV and we're off to bed. Night!!

We know you were wondering - and no, we didn't go back to the casino this morning. We saved our big winnings, packed up, got some diesel for Buttercup, and we were on the road about 10:00. Didn't have too far to go today.
Traveled up I-15, to Hwy 26, to Hwy 89. Passed through Idaho Falls and several little towns before landing in Jackson Hole, Wyoming!! Saw some awesome scenery along the way!!
No, that is not Dennis riding the motorcycle.
Got to Jackson about 2:00. Spent the afternoon checking out the town. All kinds of things happening being that its Memorial Day Weekend. Shopped a little (Dennis' favorite thing to do), went to the Fairgrounds to check out Traders Row, then went to the Million Dollar Cowboy Steakhouse for dinner.
A mountain man, I think I know him.
My little Indian.
At the town square.
Was a great afternoon!! Have a busy day tomorrow - Memorial Day parade at 10, visit Teton Village, shoot out at 6, and rodeo at 8. Whew!!! Better get to bed. Night, night!!

Up early because we had to get downtown for the parade. Had a little breakfast then packed our camping stools to place on the street. Parade starts at 10 but we knew the streets would be filled so we arrived about 8:45. Dennis chatted with a policeman about the route so we staked out our location.
No, that's not Dennis' walker - yet anyway!!!
Of course a couple of trucks did not read the sign that said, NO Parking, not a good way to start your day. As a friend you to say to Dennis, "better thee than me".
So on with the parade. We actually were close to the announcer so we knew what was coming as far as each unit. Lots of horses an cowboy stuff for sure. It started with the national anthem. Dennis taped it but it was performed by the community band.
Right before the parade started a biplane came over head and buzzed the crowd, not to close just enough to see the smoke.
Well on with the parade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The cowboys.
The mountain men.
The Queen of the parade.
Tour bus from Yellowstone, still used today.
Acca Temple group.
The covered wagon, tour groups.
Forestry mules.
The mayor.
Dog sled team pulling a 2500 Ram Truck.
After the parade they had two groups perform. One was a band from a local restaurant. Played the good old country cowboy tunes. And then there was a group of ladies from age 50 to 90 who performed some dance routines. They were great in the parade but even better as a separate act after the parade. Dennis filmed most of their routines so that the Ladies from Rose Hill, our neighborhood for those of you who just joined the blog, can do something similar and be in the Mechanicsville Christmas parade. He is all for it!!!!!!!!! Thinks it would be a hoot!
New Sheriff in town with a new deputy, were packing guns and a star.
Our dancing girls, age 50-90.
Even Dennis got in the show for the final act.
After those acts we went back to the camper for lunch and jumped on the motorcycle and headed to Teton Village, a ski lodge, and the Grand Teton National park. Saw a few folks with skis and we asked, where? Their reply was simple, where there is snow they will ski. They do it on the unmanned slopes off the paths. They can take the tram up , hike over to the slope, ski, and then hike back. These folks were in shape.
Okay a loop of the Tetons. We have said all along the pictures don't do these places justice but hopefully you will get the idea.
Back at the camper to get ready to go to town again for the shootout. We grabbed a piece of pizza in town and walked over to the town square. Here we waited for the cowboy shootout which was done by the local theater group. Didn't last long and was pretty cool. A little disappointed in the language since there were a lot of families with small children. Oh well!
Now on to the rodeo, go gettum cowboys!! We were told to get there early so we did. About 6:45 for the 8 pm start. Not so bad, we got the seat we wanted, our backs to a board to block the wind and the sun at our backs to get great pictures. It was awesome, of course the national anthem was first then those crazy guys who ride the bulls. Oh my goodness, they have to be sore and have been hit in the head to do this.
Back to the shoots again for bronco riding. The three guys on the horses helping the cowboy off the bronco horse were the hardest working and good cowboys I have ever seen. Of course I haven't seen many other than Doug, Dennis's brother, and he works hard at reining and horse shoeing.
Then it was barrel racing. That when the horse goes around three barrels without knocking them over in the fastest time. 17.8 second won this event. Its pretty cool, Scott, has done this before.
Well now it the kids turn. The have peewee bull riding. They had a 3 year old on a small bull or cow and it was great. These folks take cowboy stuff seriously in Jackson Hole Wyoming.
The final event was more bull riding, and then we were back at the camper by 10:30. The rodeo was just on the back side of the campground. Nice and convenient.
Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, we are tired. Headed to Yellowstone in the morning.
Night
